Indigenous Partnerships

Bridging the Gap

Creating mining project opportunities through Indigenous Joint Ventures (JVs) plays a crucial role in driving positive change within Indigenous communities.

At MacKellar we value the importance of working with traditional custodians and their communities. Our aim is to bridge gaps and provide meaningful opportunities and avenues for Indigenous Australians to contribute to their community.

Joint Ventures Leading the Way

Indigenous JVs serve as a pathway for improving community outcomes, supporting development, and fostering social and economic progress. By partnering with traditional owners and their communities we can establish meaningful partnerships that respect Indigenous wisdom and heritage.

MacKellar's two Joint Ventures provide opportunities for Indigenous Australians to engage in decision making processes and broaden prospects for communities.

This collaborative approach ensures that all Australians, regardless of their background, can benefit from mining projects while preserving Indigenous legacy, knowledge and natural heritage for future generations.

Indigenous partnership team

Purposeful Partnerships

MacKellar is committed to working towards creating opportunities and enhancing outcomes for Indigenous communities.

With our two Indigenous Joint Ventures in Queensland, we are creating local job opportunities through initiatives that serve the interests of Indigenous Australians, our clients and the wider community.

Our partnerships with traditional owners and their communities empower our clients to expand project horizons by integrating traditional wisdom and methods. This is of great benefit to our clients, driving sustainable development, as well as social and economic growth, as direct benefits from working with MacKellar Group.

ULANGOO NUNEE BINBEE

Founded by the Kemp family, Ulangoo Nunee Binbee (UNB) Industries focuses on land rehabilitation, mining services, and the cultivation of traditional bush medicines and foods.

Meaning “make land good” in the Ghungalu language, UNB Industries is dedicated to achieving this goal. UNB envisions establishing an industrial greenhouse for replanting native medicinal bush varieties.

Operating on Ghungalu traditional lands in QLD central, the UNB JV actively contributes to the community through investments in sporting facilities, education, support for local businesses, and the vision to create a native plant nursery.

GUBBA BUNTHOO

Ghungalu Investments, founded by Shaun Cora, Thane Cora, and Aunty Michelle Leisha, offers a comprehensive range of services including equipment hire, maintenance, mining services, civil project earthmoving, and transport & logistics.

Operating on Ghungalu traditional lands the Gubba Bunthoo JV contributes to the community through investments in education, business growth, mentorship, and sporting sponsorship.

GBJV is committed to supporting community development through job opportunities, apprenticeships, operator training, upskilling, Indigenous pathways into mining careers, and mentorship.

By partnering with MacKellar our clients can forge alliances making a meaningful and positive impact on Indigenous communities across Australia.
