MacKellar Showcases Industry Leadership at QME 2026

Company News & Announcements | Jul 24, 2026

MacKellar was proud to exhibit at the Queensland Mining & Engineering Exhibition (QME) 2026, joining customers, suppliers, industry partners and mining professionals from across Australia for three days of collaboration, innovation and meaningful industry conversations in Mackay.

Throughout the event, our team welcomed visitors to Stand B130, where we had the opportunity to discuss MacKellar’s mining capabilities, current projects, career opportunities and our commitment to delivering safe, reliable and innovative mining solutions.
A key highlight of QME 2026 was MacKellar’s strong contribution to the conference program, with our leaders sharing practical insights and real-world experience across several technical and strategic sessions.

Managing Director Andre Desbiens participated in the panel discussion Unlocking Operational Efficiency Through Trusted Strategic Partners, joining industry leaders to explore how collaboration, innovation and long-term partnerships can improve operational performance and create lasting value across the mining sector.

Maintenance Engineering Manager Sid Vasa represented MacKellar in two conference sessions. In From Data to Decisions: AI & Predictive Maintenance in Mining, Sid discussed how data analytics and predictive maintenance technologies are helping mining operations improve equipment reliability, optimise maintenance planning and support more informed decision-making.

Sid also co-presented the case study Driving Fleet Reliability Through Condition Monitoring alongside Chris Caine, Customer Solutions Manager – Asset Solutions at Hastings Deering. The presentation explored how condition monitoring is delivering measurable improvements in fleet reliability and equipment performance through practical, real-world applications. The session attracted strong audience engagement, with attendees participating in an insightful Q&A discussion following the presentation.

Beyond the conference sessions, QME provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, establish new connections and engage with professionals from across the mining industry. Over the three days, the MacKellar team enjoyed countless conversations with customers, suppliers, prospective employees and industry peers, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in driving the future of mining.

MacKellar extends its thanks to the organisers of QME, our industry partners and everyone who contributed to making the event such a success. We look forward to building on the relationships established during the exhibition and continuing to work alongside our customers and partners to deliver outstanding outcomes across Australia’s mining industry.
